Thom Shumosic founded MidAtlantic Wealth Partners, formerly MidAtlantic Retirement Planning Specialists (MARPS), on a single conviction: that retirement planning done right is deeply personal, technically rigorous, and fiduciary in its truest sense. As founder, he leads the firm's client relationships, drives new engagements, and mentors a team of advisors who share his commitment to helping individuals and families navigate one of the most consequential financial transitions of their lives.

With decades of experience specializing in retirement planning, Thom brings a comprehensive approach to every client relationship — from pre-retirement accumulation strategies and qualified plan design to income distribution planning, Social Security optimization, and legacy preservation. His work is grounded in a fiduciary standard, meaning his clients can be confident that every recommendation is made with their best interest as the singular priority.

Thom holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware, the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation (CFP®) from the College for Financial Planning, and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation (AIF®) through the Center for Fiduciary Studies — credentials that reflect both the breadth of his financial planning expertise and his unwavering commitment to fiduciary responsibility.

Thom's dedication to the profession extends well beyond client work. He currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Financial Planning and Wealth Management Major within the Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware, helping shape the next generation of financial planning professionals. He and his wife Stephanie have endowed two scholarships at the University — one in Athletics and one in the Financial Planning Major — both specifically designated for first-generation college students. He previously served as an Executive Board member of the University of Delaware Alumni Association.

Outside of financial planning, Thom is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Delaware Art Museum, where he chairs the Finance Committee, and is an active Rotarian with the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club in Wilmington. Earlier in his career, he coached a Delaware High School State Basketball Championship team at the Sanford School in 1991.

Thom lives in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife Stephanie. They have two daughters, a son, and a daughter-in-law. He is an enthusiastic supporter of Philadelphia sports and University of Delaware Athletics, and enjoys great food, tailgating, and time with family.
